Rock legend Dave Navarro, 57, and actress Vanessa DuBasso, 31, exchanged vows in a darkly romantic ceremony at Dunskey Estate in Stranraer, Scotland on March 29, 2025. The couple chose the secluded coastal estate for its ethereal ambiance and dramatic setting.
"It exudes a moody, ethereal charm. Surrounded by a towering forest, a serene lake and the ruins of a castle along the shoreline, it felt like stepping into a fairytale," DuBasso told People magazine. The founder of VANTABLACKLAMM, a collection of hand-painted leather looks, had always dreamed of a castle wedding.
Navarro echoed this sentiment, stating, "We wanted our wedding to feel like a dream. It was important to us to find a place that felt unlike anywhere we had ever been, a place that embraced nature and transported us to another world."
The couple's vision materialized through a forest ceremony featuring gold candelabra at the altar, an aisle lined with white roses, and chandeliers suspended from trees. Estate owner Ali Orr Ewing officiated as a three-piece quartet performed Debussy's "Clair de Lune" for DuBasso's entrance.
The bride wore a Victorian-inspired ensemble designed in collaboration with Tina Wong of Grace + Ivory. Her Marie Antoinette-style corset featured intricate appliqué patterns, a cross emblem with freshwater pearl beading, and black velvet lacing that complemented Navarro's all-black Generation Tux attire.
DuBasso completed her look with white Versace Mary Jane pumps and a unique accessory—angel wings—referencing Navarro's nickname for her: "breathing cherub." Their rings, crafted by Simon G. Jewelry, included DuBasso's white gold eternity band with 5 carats of oval diamonds.
The celebration continued with a reception featuring pasta, filet mignon, seafood, and traditional Scottish desserts. Their wedding cake honored DuBasso's Swedish heritage—a princess cake decorated with white icing, black cathedral patterns, and roses.
Comedian Pete Davidson was among the guests who danced the night away in the castle's dungeon, later enjoying pizza as a late-night snack. Fireworks illuminated the sky as the newlyweds were declared husband and wife.
The couple met eight years ago after Navarro spotted DuBasso in a movie trailer and arranged an introduction through the director. "I was immediately drawn to Dave's green chestnut eyes, tattoos and dark comedic humor," DuBasso revealed. "His whole being is powerfully magnetic, and it was love at first sight."
Their engagement story reflects their spontaneous connection. "I had this grand proposal planned, but my excitement got the best of me. I couldn't contain myself, and it ended up happening in our kitchen around 3 a.m.," Navarro confessed.
The couple plans to honeymoon in Edinburgh, exploring historic castles and pursuing Navarro's lifelong fascination with holy relics. Eventually, they hope to settle in "a home immersed in nature, somewhere far away where we can feel free to create our little life away from the chaotic and busy world," as DuBasso described their future together.
