Steven Oleksy, former NHL player and husband of Brooke Hogan, came to his wife’s defense recently in a public family brawl with her mother, Linda Hogan. The conflict went public on March 26 when 65-year-old Linda shared an emotional video revealing that she hadn’t seen Brooke in nearly eight years and accused her ex-husband, Hulk Hogan, of being a “sex addict” and a “liar.” Linda further stated Brooke had a history of drinking to excess, once fractured her collarbone, and knowingly kept her in the dark regarding Brooke’s 2022 wedding to Oleksy and about the latest twins.
Brooke, 36, pushed back against her mother’s claims with a long Instagram post, saying she had suffered “verbal and mental abuse since childhood” and had made the painful choice to cut ties with her family. She made it clear that her estrangement was not about taking sides in her parents’ divorce but about putting her own well-being and happiness first. She also maintained she still loved her parents but needed to leave for her own peace.
Oleksy posted on March 29, dismissing Linda’s accusations and standing up for his wife. Though not specifically addressing Linda, he referred to her as “Jane Doe” and called her charges fabricated. He refuted personally the claim Brooke had broken her mom’s collarbone in an alcohol binge and dismissed it as “laughable” for people familiar. He also defied Linda’s assertion that she had never even seen him, as he provided evidence that they ate together and even took photographs.
Oleksy praised Brooke’s toughness and resilience and said that she had worked to build a successful interior design firm in Nashville without the help of money. He referred to her as “the truest, most honest person many have ever known” and spoke about how she was not afraid to give up herself for others. He also spoke of Brooke’s difficult decision to give up family financial relationships and said that she opted for love and honesty over money.
Despite the ongoing public drama, Brooke does not appear to be dwelling on it. She and Oleksy welcomed twins Oliver and Molly in January, and her latest Instagram update with her husband and children simply read, “Back to R E A L I T Y.” The drama of the Hogan family continues in the public eye, pointing out the paradoxes of tense relationships in the spotlight.
