Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell were seen together at Joe Leo Fine Tex Mex in Dallas over the weekend, as reported by Deuxmoi. This sighting comes shortly after news broke that Sweeney has called off her wedding to fiancé Jonathan Davino.
According to TMZ sources, Sweeney's presence in Texas was primarily to attend Powell's sister's wedding. The insider clarified that the "Euphoria" star did not attend as Powell's date but had RSVP'd months before her split with Davino, alongside her best friend.
"Sydney is very good friends with the Powell family and has been very close with Glen's sister for a long time," the source explained to TMZ. Sweeney was also reportedly seen at brunch with Powell's family, though he wasn't present at that gathering.
For their restaurant outing, Powell appeared relaxed in a polo shirt while enjoying cocktails with friends. Sweeney wore a black long-sleeved top with her blonde hair styled in waves, as described by eyewitnesses.
Last week, Us Weekly reported that Sweeney and Davino, who began dating in 2018, had postponed their spring wedding plans while working through "major issues" in their relationship. "They aren't throwing in the towel yet," a source told the magazine, adding that Sweeney "couldn't handle the stress" of balancing wedding planning with her demanding career.
Another insider revealed to People magazine that the couple's relationship had been strained "for a long time," with Davino reportedly wishing they "were able to spend more quality time together."
This isn't the first time Sweeney's personal life has fueled speculation. During the filming of romantic comedy "Anyone But You" in 2023, fans noticed the on-screen chemistry between Sweeney and Powell, which sparked rumors about her relationship with Davino.
While Powell acknowledged leaning into those rumors to promote the film, Sweeney expressed frustration with the speculation. In an August 2023 interview with Variety, she admitted feeling "beat up" by the rumors and her inability to defend herself.
The timing of this Dallas sighting is particularly notable as Powell himself experienced a breakup in 2023 when his girlfriend Gigi Paris ended their relationship during the "Anyone But You" promotion cycle.
Representatives for both Sweeney, 27, and Powell, 36, have not yet commented on their Dallas meeting or the status of their respective relationships.
