Ed Sheeran's shape has changed as a result of having children. After the birth of their daughters, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, age 4, and Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran, age 2, the singer of "Perfect" disclosed that his way of life has changed "very dramatically" with the arrival of his wife of six years, Cherry Seaborn.
The most significant thing Ed revealed was that he no longer engages in "being a f--king maniac with drink and drugs and smoking."
The Grammy winner said, "I exercise now—I never exercised before," during the Call Her Daddy podcast's April 9 episode. "I get up in the morning; rather, I used to sleep until 4 p.m."
"I have two very young girls at home, so I'm up at 5:30 a.m. every morning," he added, adding that he is now an "early riser and an early bedtimer."
Additionally, Ed's approach to his music career has changed as a result of becoming a parent. He clarified, "I'm at home more now. They determine my work schedule, not the other way around.
In addition, it has introduced him to new musical genres. Ed even acknowledged that Lyra and Jupiter have turned him into a Disney fan by asking him to sing them songs from the 2016 animated blockbuster Moana. Ed is getting ready to release his new album Play later this year.
"I have a song on my album called 'Sapphire' that they love, so it’s either Moana or 'Sapphire,'" he shared. "Moana, by the way, top f--king tier Disney music. All the songs, actually."
Ed still finds time for his friends even though raising his children has taken precedence over all else. The 34-year-old actually mentioned that he makes an effort to see his longtime friend and collaborator Taylor Swift on a number of occasions throughout the year.
Ed remarked, "I see her when I see her." "But I probably see her like four times a year and have, like, proper sit-downs, six-hour catch-ups."
He continued, "I think that's a really nice way to do it."
