The "Deadpool" star's supportive gesture included several quick kisses and what appeared to be words of reassurance. Page Six exclusively captured this intimate exchange between the Hollywood power couple, married since 2012 after beginning their relationship in 2011.

"Ryan Reynolds is one 'sweet husband,'" noted observers at the Jazz at Lincoln Center venue. The couple's genuine connection was evident as Lively prepared to address the star-studded audience after being named one of Time magazine's "Most Influential People of 2025."

Lively's emotional address revealed previously private family trauma. The "Gossip Girl" alum spoke movingly about her mother, Willie Elaine McAlpin, who attended the gala alongside the couple. Lively disclosed that her mother, whom she described as an "eternal optimist," had been a victim of "the worst crime someone can commit against a woman."

"If we name it, we change it," Lively declared, explaining her decision to share her mother's story of "undeserved shame" that McAlpin had concealed throughout her life. This marked a powerful moment of advocacy from the actress, using her platform to address sexual assault trauma.

During her speech, Lively specifically acknowledged Reynolds among the "kind and good" men in her life. "Every man, including my sweet husband," received her gratitude for their respectful behavior "when no one is watching." The couple shares four children: James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2.

The gala appearance comes amid Lively's ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, her "It Ends With Us" co-star and the film's director. She has filed sexual harassment charges against Baldoni, 41, and alleged he conducted a smear campaign targeting her. Baldoni has denied these allegations and filed a countersuit.

"I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum," Lively told attendees, briefly referencing the controversy. She added, "What I will speak to, separately, is the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today."

The Time100 Gala drew numerous celebrities including Serena Williams, Snoop Dogg, Gayle King, Demi Moore, Adam Scott, and Adrien Brody. The event celebrates individuals recognized for their significant cultural influence across various fields.

Reynolds' supportive presence throughout the evening exemplified the couple's enduring partnership amid both professional achievements and personal challenges, demonstrating how public figures can use their platforms to address serious social issues while navigating the complexities of Hollywood relationships.
