Amid the latest allegations against, Shannon Sharpe, his relationship with his ex – girlfriend Michele Bundy Evans has been a point of reference. Evans filed a restraining order against Sharpe in 2010, accusing him of sexual assault and stalking. The accusations resurfaced after Jane Doe accused Sharpe of rape and battery, which the NFL legend denied.
Shannon Sharpe’s attorney claim that Michele Evans is obsessed with him and is on probation after serving 3 years in prison for trying to kill her husband so that she can pursue a relationship with Shannon Sharpe. His lawyers claim that it should not be a surprise that when someone famous is on the news, other people try to profit from their alleged relationship. He emphasizes that the stories and accusations and stories are nothing more than “old news, fanciful exaggerations, or sometimes blatant misrepresentation of fact.”
“ They are shared on social media or fed to reporters with intentional factual omissions and no regard for the truth. This is obviously purposeful, designated to create a fabricated narrative. This is exactly what is happening to Shannon Sharpe and the case involving Michele Evans is a perfect example. Sadly, Ms. Evans became obsessed with Shannon and decided to manufacture a claim against him,” they continued.
His lawyer claims that Evans filed a civil complaint on her own when she could not find a lawyer to pursue her “outrageous” story. He continues to say that Shannon has had no contact with Evans for many years. In the New York complaint, obtained by PEOPLE, Evans, who is representing herself, claims that she had been in a relationship with Sharpe for nearly a decade, ending in 2010, when she says they got in an argument over his alleged infidelity.
“The Defendant proceeded to forcefully subdue me, compelling me to my knees and subsequently engaging in non-consensual oral penetration,” the complaint alleges. “Despite my protests, he persisted in this violation.” In her 2023 lawsuit, Evans claims that Shannon allegedly threatened to destroy her if she ever came forward with the allegations. She states she was forced to drop her 2010 restraining order out of fear.
