The family of Kody Brown is expanding once more. The Sister Wives star's oldest daughter, Aspyn Brown, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Christine Brown, is, after all, expecting a child.
In an April 30 news segment about Mother's Day gifts, Aspyn revealed she was pregnant. When Morgan Saxton, the anchor for Fox 13 News, said it was "fitting" that the 30-year-old, a manager at a Kendra Scott store in Utah, would discuss her gift suggestions on-air while expecting her "first little one on the way," Aspyn nodded and grinned while flaunting her baby bump in a blue-and-white dress.
The news of Aspyn's pregnancy comes six years after she married carpenter Mitch Thompson in 2018. An episode of her family's TLC show from 2019 featured footage of the ceremony.
At the time, Kody exclaimed, "She's just as beautiful as can be," about his daughter. "She's just so lovely."
But after splitting from Christine in 2021, the 56-year-old's relationship with Aspyn has soured. He and Christine have children together: Mykelti Padron, 28; Paedon Brown, 26; Gwendlyn Queiroz, 23; Ysabel Brown, 21; and Truely Brown, 15.
On Sister Wives' April 27 episode, Kody disclosed that Aspyn had "confronted" him about their tense relationship.
"Aspyn literally asked why I didn't like her," he and I say, Sweetheart, I love yo'u. And I have, always have, and always will'."
The 18-year-old father continued by describing how his divorce from Christine, along with her sister wives Meri Brown and Janelle Brown, caused him to feel "alienated" from many of his children.
"We haven't had a lot of connection," Kody continued. "So I'm trying to establish this relationship where they're no longer having me represented to them by my ex-wives."
