Tish Cyrus has cleared the air after fans noticed she had seemingly unfollowed her daughter, pop star Miley Cyrus, on Instagram. The brief lapse sparked widespread speculation about a possible rift between the two, especially following a nostalgic Instagram post from Billy Ray Cyrus hinting at a reconciliation with Miley.
The speculation began when internet users spotted Tish no longer following Miley online. Fans quickly linked the move to Billy Ray's May 7 post featuring a throwback video of him and Miley performing together. The caption read, "Can't wait to see this young lady. Crazy how time flies," which some interpreted as a sign of renewed closeness between father and daughter.
This timing raised eyebrows, prompting users on social media to suggest family drama might be unfolding. One user wrote, "This family has always been so messy," while another claimed, "Tish Cyrus wants to be her daughter so badly." Further fueling concern, actress Elizabeth Hurley, Billy Ray's new partner, liked Miley's post, adding to theories of shifting alliances within the family.
However, Tish quickly responded to the rumors, commenting under her own post, "Have no idea how that happened but it's fixed now!" She later doubled down on X saying, "I would never unfollow Miley, her and I are as close as we've always been. Period. Love you Little."
Despite the confusion, Tish and Miley's bond appears strong. In a 2024 appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Miley described her mother as her "hero." She elaborated, "Honestly, my mom is my hero." The admiration is mutual. Tish shared on the show, "My goal was to keep Miley home as long as possible... She definitely had financial ways for her to move out before she was 18."
Miley has long expressed her affection for Tish, even featuring her in the 2019 music video for "Mother's Daughter," captioning the post, "BOSS LADY... most bad ass mom of all f–king time!"
Though the Cyrus family has faced public ups and downs, including Tish's 2023 marriage to Dominic Purcell and earlier tensions with daughter Noah, they seem to be working toward healing. A source shared, "Noah and Tish are working on rebuilding their relationship... it's been very up and down."
For now, the family remains under close watch—but Tish insists, there's no feud with Miley.
