Supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid have introduced a new member of their family to the public — their 23-year-old half-sister, Aydan Nix.

In a statement released on May 29 via the Daily Mail, the sisters shared that Aydan is the daughter of their father, Mohamed Hadid, and Terri Hatfield Dull, from a brief relationship that occurred after Mohamed's divorce from Yolanda Hadid in 2001.

Born and raised in Florida, Aydan believed another man was her father until his sudden death when she was 19. Following his passing, she decided to take a DNA test out of curiosity. The results revealed her biological link to Mohamed and, by extension, to the Hadid siblings.

"We connected with Aydan in late 2023," the sisters said, "and from that point, welcomed her with love and open hearts." They added that Aydan has since spent time with all members of the Hadid family, including their father.

The sisters described their new bond as a "beautiful and unexpected" gift, emphasizing that they've held many thoughtful and supportive conversations together, all centred on ensuring Aydan feels included and protected.

While Mohamed Hadid, 76, has not spoken publicly about Aydan, sources close to the family suggest he was aware of her existence. Despite not providing financial support, the two are said to maintain a respectful, albeit discreet, relationship. He was reportedly expected to attend Aydan's graduation from Parsons School of Design this May but cancelled shortly before the event.

Aydan, who recently completed her studies in fashion, is currently living in New York and pursuing a career as a designer, stylist, and influencer. The Hadid sisters requested privacy on her behalf, saying, "Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honour her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York."

Mohamed Hadid shares Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid with Yolanda, and has two older daughters, Marielle and Alana, from his first marriage to Mary Butler.
