After nearly a decade of highs, lows, and headline moments, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially ended their engagement. Multiple sources confirmed the split to Us Weekly on June 25, 2025, describing it as "amicable" but long overdue. "Katy is of course upset," one insider shared, "but relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life."
Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, had been living separately in recent months, with the pop star on her Lifetimes tour and renting out her Westcott Estate in Montecito, California. Though the pair shared another home in Montecito that served as their primary residence, insiders say plans to make Westcott their family home were quietly scrapped. "They've been apart since the tour began," a source explained.
Signs of strain had emerged before the official announcement. In early June, a source close to the couple noted that Bloom and Perry were "spending more and more time apart," and that their paths "no longer aligned." Another insider added, "It's an unspoken thing that they are having issues and have for a while now. Everyone around them knows."
The split comes six years after their Valentine's Day engagement in 2019. They welcomed daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020. Bloom also shares 14-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr. Despite the long engagement, a wedding never materialized. A source told Us Weekly, "They never set a date or planned anything serious. Orlando is over it."
Bloom addressed the complexities of their relationship in April 2024 on Trevor Noah's What Now? podcast. "We've got these two giant careers and lives," he said. "But I keep coming back to her, trying to walk her back to the sand pit... just to build a sandcastle."
Perry, too, had previously acknowledged the effort required. In April 2023, she posted on Instagram that they "continuously put in the work" to keep their relationship steady. However, by mid-2025, her tour schedule, online criticism over her album 143, and recent space-themed promotional stunts seemed to widen the emotional gap.
No official statement has been released by representatives for either Perry or Bloom. For now, Perry remains focused on her tour. "She's distracted, staying busy," a source said. "But this has been coming for a long time."
Their split, though quiet in execution, marks the end of one of pop culture's most closely watched modern romances.
