When Didi Conn, who costarred with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta as Frenchy in the 1978 film, made a rare public appearance on July 27 in Piermont, New York, to take out the trash, she was wearing an outfit that was reminiscent of her Pink Ladies days.
The beauty school dropout carried a trash can on the sidewalk and wore a pink short-sleeved Ralph Lauren polo shirt, white khaki shorts, and pink sandals for the outing. She also wore a pair of dark-rimmed glasses and a close-cut brunette hairstyle that was the same length as Frenchy's.
Earlier in the summer, Conn, who also starred in Michelle Pfeiffer's Grease sequel in 1982, made another public appearance. At the renowned Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, she actually hosted a sing-along screening of the original movie musical, where Travolta made an unexpected appearance in costume as Danny Zuko.
In a July 9 interview with People, Conn said, "Let me tell you something." It's unbelievable when 18,000 people get up and yell. When I glanced outside, I noticed that everyone was dressed up and there to have fun. In addition to T-Birds, there are nerds, jocks, and Pink Ladies. The fact that this movie is so popular is incredible.
She added that Travolta's entrance was a "touching" remembrance of her longtime friend Newton-John, who lost his fight with breast cancer in 2022.
"It was ideal," Conn added. "What could be more fitting than a celebration of Olivia and [Sandy's] boyfriend's appearance? It was amazing. Absolutely amazing.
