Kelley Mack, an actress best known for her role as Addy in season nine of The Walking Dead, has died at the age of 33 following a battle with glioma.
 
Her death was confirmed in a statement shared by her family on Instagram, which read, "It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go." The statement noted she "passed away peacefully" on August 2, with her mother and aunt by her side.
 
Mack was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma and first revealed her diagnosis publicly in January through an Instagram post.
 
Born Kelley Klebenow in Cincinnati, Ohio, she grew up across Ohio, North Carolina, and Illinois. She graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2010 and earned a degree in cinematography from Chapman University in 2014. Her obituary described her as someone who "cherished time with her family and friends, finding joy in collaboration and storytelling."
 
Her family called her a "bright, fervent light" who "will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express." They added, "Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies."
 
Alongside The Walking Dead, she appeared in shows like Chicago Med, where she played Penelope Jacobs, and FOX's 9-1-1. In film, she portrayed Alice in Broadcast Signal Intrusion and Wilda in Delicate Arch.
 
"She was known for her warmth, creativity and unwavering support for those around her," read a tribute posted on CaringBridge. "Her infectious enthusiasm and dedication to her work inspired countless others."
 
Mack is survived by her parents Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow, her siblings Kathryn and actor Parker Mack, her grandparents Lois and Larry Klebenow, and her boyfriend Logan Lanier.
 
Her family shared that a memorial gathering will take place on August 16 in Glendale, Ohio, with plans for another celebration of her life to be organized in Los Angeles at a future date.
