Brooke Hogan, the daughter of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, recently explained her absence from his funeral following rumors of their strained relationship.
Rather than attending the private ceremony, Brooke chose to honor her father in a way she felt was most authentic to him. She said that her father “didn’t want” a traditional funeral because he disliked the formality, solemnity and overall morbidity of such gatherings. With that in mind, Brooke and her husband decided on a quiet, intimate tribute at the beach, a place with deep meaning, as it was one of her dad’s favorite places.
She shared that the decision wasn’t made lightly; it was a heartfelt gesture, tailored to align with what she believed he would have wanted. At the beach, accompanied by her husband and their newborn twins, Brooke recreated the simplicity and peace her father cherished, “the way that made me feel the closest to him,” she said, recalling him in his lawn chair, watching the waves.
Amid rumors and speculation, Brooke also addressed the broader family dynamics at play. She emphasized that she never saw the funeral as a battleground for public display, nor did she view it as a way to gain attention or entitlement. In fact, she made the deliberate move to remove herself from her father’s will, aiming to protect both herself and his memory from complicating conflicts.
Brooke also expressed frustration with false narrative threads being spread in the aftermath of her father’s death. She made clear that she did not want to be dragged into sensationalized stories or drama, saying that she has been financially independent since adulthood and wasn’t seeking anything beyond honoring her father in her own way. She even hinted that if the spread of misinformation continued, she might consider legal action to preserve her integrity.
