Chrissy Metz has revealed that she is in a new relationship, nearly two years after ending her three-year romance with Bradley Collins.
The This Is Us alum, 44, shared in an August 13 interview with People that she has been dating her partner, an electrical engineer, for the past year. Choosing not to disclose his name, Metz described him as "so supportive and so kind," adding, "This relationship makes me feel good about myself. What's the catch?"
Her personal life is not the only area undergoing change. Metz has also embarked on a health-focused lifestyle, incorporating meal preparation and strength training into her routine. She clarified that her approach is not about pursuing thinness but rather prioritizing well-being.
"I know skinniness doesn't equal happiness," she said. "I just want to be health-positive. I never said I wanted to be the face of body positivity. It's not that I condone morbid obesity or heroin chic. I condone a healthy body."
Metz rose to fame portraying Kate Pearson in NBC's This Is Us (2016–2022), a role that included an on-screen weight loss storyline. Off-screen, she revealed earlier this year that she had lost 100 pounds, emphasizing that her current acting opportunities have "nothing to do with pant size."
Her new chapter comes after she and Collins announced their amicable split in October 2023 via a joint statement. The pair said they would maintain a close friendship, noting, "We still have books to write, songs to sing, and a special friendship to keep us in each other's lives forever."
Metz has also adjusted her living arrangements, now dividing her time between Los Angeles and Nashville. She cited proximity, Southern hospitality, and her family's location in Florida as key reasons for the move, as well as the lack of filming opportunities in Los Angeles.
"I want to live the longest life possible," Metz said, underscoring her renewed focus on personal health, professional growth, and happiness—both on and off screen.
