Bella Thorne is once again making headlines, this time for proposing to her fiancé, producer Mark Emms, even though he had already popped the question a year ago.

The former Disney star shared the unconventional moment on Instagram Saturday, where she was seen kneeling on one knee in a romantic setting decorated with candles, flowers, and heart-shaped balloons. Emms appeared caught off guard before crouching down to meet her, visibly surprised when Thorne revealed a ring box. The couple embraced and shared a kiss, sealing the spontaneous gesture.

"Three years ago we met, one year later he proposed, now one year later so did I 🥴❤️," the 27-year-old captioned the video.

The intimate clip quickly drew mixed reactions. Some fans found the move confusing, questioning why Thorne felt the need to propose again. One commenter wrote, "If he already proposed, why did you do it lol I'm confused." Another urged, "Ok ladies let's not normalize this, okay?" Others mocked the idea altogether, with one quipping they would "rather swallow glass" than do the same.

Still, a number of followers applauded the actress for flipping the script, praising her for the romantic gesture. "I don't understand why everyone's hating. It's cute 😭," one user defended. Another echoed: "Girl power, I love you for this."

Thorne later addressed the chatter on her Instagram Stories, acknowledging the strong divide: "The comments on my post are hilarious!! Totally split down the middle. Half of u are like let's not normalize proposing to your partner, other half is like f*** yeah girl power this is the sweetest!!"

Thorne and Emms first met at Cara Delevingne's birthday party in Ibiza in 2022 and went public with their romance in early 2023. Emms originally proposed in May of that year with a large diamond ring during a celebration at Thorne's California home.

Before her relationship with Emms, Thorne had been engaged to Italian singer Benjamin Mascolo and has been linked in the past to Mod Sun and Tana Mongeau.
