Luis Guzmán had viewers buzzing after an unexpectedly blunt moment about Jennifer Lopez on the latest episode of Hot Ones.
The 68-year-old actor, best known for his roles in Boogie Nights, Traffic, and Netflix's Wednesday, sat down with castmates Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Georgie Farmer, and Joy Sunday for the spicy interview series on Tuesday. During a lighthearted segment, Myers asked him to sum up Hollywood stars he had worked with in just one word.

When names like Adam Sandler and Catherine Zeta-Jones came up, Guzmán quickly delivered glowing descriptors: "amazing" for Sandler and "bellísima" for Zeta-Jones. But when Lopez's name was mentioned, the energy shifted. Guzmán shrugged and offered a flat, "OK."

The room erupted in laughter and surprise, with Ortega and the others gasping at the understated dig. Whether it was playful teasing or genuine shade remained unclear, but the brief moment quickly made its way across social media. Fans debated if Guzmán was simply joking or signaling a less-than-fond memory of working alongside Lopez.

Guzmán and Lopez previously shared the screen in Steven Soderbergh's acclaimed 1998 thriller Out of Sight. The film, which also starred George Clooney, Don Cheadle, and Ving Rhames, was praised for its sharp dialogue and stylish direction. Lopez earned particular acclaim as U.S. Marshal Karen Sisco, a role that helped establish her as a rising Hollywood lead. Guzmán played escaped convict José "Chino" Chirino.

While Guzmán downplayed Lopez, he had nothing but admiration for Ortega, calling her a "prodigy" — a remark that drew a big smile from his on-screen daughter in Wednesday. The actor then mouthed "I love you," which Ortega returned with laughter.

Representatives for Lopez and Guzmán have not commented on the viral clip.

Fans won't have to wait long to see Guzmán back in character. Season 2 of Netflix's Wednesday debuted its first installment earlier this month, with part two set to arrive September 3. Producers promise a darker, more layered story as Ortega's Wednesday navigates new challenges, mysteries, and enemies.
