Argentinian singer and former model Fede Dorcaz, aged 29, was tragically killed in Mexico City just days before he was set to appear on the dance competition show Las Estrellas Bailan En Hoy. His death has rocked the Latin entertainment world and left fans and colleagues mourning.

According to Mexico City authorities, the incident occurred on the night of October 9, 2025, in the Ampliación Daniel Garza neighborhood, Miguel Hidalgo borough. Dorcaz had been leaving dance rehearsals for the upcomin” season of Las Estrellas Bailan En Hoy, paired with his girlfriend, influencer Mariana Ávila, when he was driving home along the Periférico Ring Road.

Reports say he was intercepted by attackers riding on two motorcycles who fired multiple shots at him. He was hit in the neck and died at the scene. No suspects have been detained yet. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the perpetrators.

Local law enforcement is treating the killing as a possible attempted robbery, and early reports suggest Dorcaz may have resisted the attackers. The Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) says that four individuals, two on each motorcycle, were involved in the attack, but it remains unclear exactly what motivated the assault.

Dorcaz was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, and had built a rising career as both a model and musician. Formerly active in modeling in Europe, he later relocated to Mexico, where his music began gaining traction. Notably, his songs like Cara Bonita and “No Eres Tú” had become popular on Mexican radio. He had also appeared at high-profile events, including the Premios Juventud in Panama weeks earlier, demonstrating a growing regional profile.

The television program Hoy, which airs Las Estrellas Bailan En Hoy, confirmed his death and issued a statement expressing profound sorrow. The show noted that Dorcaz had been scheduled to compete alongside Ávila in the new season. In its tribute, the Hoy team said Dorcaz’s passion and energy left a lasting impact, and that he would be deeply missed. Ávila also posted emotional tributes on social media, expressing the heartbreak of losing both a partner and a creative collaborator.

Investigations are ongoing. Authorities are still analyzing video from the area to identify suspects, and the prosecutor’s office is handling the homicide case. Meanwhile, public and industry reaction has been swift, with many colleagues describing Dorcaz as a vibrant, ambitious talent who was deeply devoted to his craft.
