Alec Baldwin and his brother Stephen Baldwin are counting their blessings after walking away unharmed from a car crash in East Hampton, New York.
The 30 Rock star, 67, revealed in an Instagram video on Oct. 13 that he had been driving his wife Hilaria Baldwin's white Range Rover when he swerved to avoid a garbage truck and instead collided with a tree.
"This morning, I was in a car accident," Baldwin shared. "A garbage truck the size of a whale cut me off, so to avoid hitting him, I hit a big, fat tree and crushed my wife's car. I feel bad about that, but I'm fine, my brother's fine, everyone's fine."
Photos obtained by TMZ showed the actor standing beside the heavily damaged SUV, which suffered a smashed front end. Police officers from the East Hampton Department responded quickly to the scene. Baldwin later thanked "Officer Gerken," describing him as "as pleasant as can be about the whole thing."
Stephen Baldwin, 59, confirmed through his representative that both brothers were safe, adding, "Stephen is grateful no one was injured and appreciates the concern."
The crash comes just days after the Baldwin brothers attended the Hamptons International Film Festival, where they promoted their One Bad Movie podcast series. Baldwin, who co-chairs the festival's executive board, had spent the week moderating panels and attending screenings.
In his post, Alec also mentioned that he was preparing to fly to Los Angeles to reunite with his family, expressing love for his wife following her recent Dancing With the Stars elimination. "I'm still so proud of my wife Hilaria. I love you more than anything," he said.
Baldwin, who has been sober for 40 years, has long owned property in the Hamptons. His East Hampton home, which he bought in 1995 and extensively renovated, was briefly listed for sale in 2024 before being pulled from the market.
Despite the scare, Baldwin assured fans he's in good health and in good spirits. "All's well," he said. "It's just a car, and we're lucky."
