Victoria Beckham is opening up about the emotional challenges of parenting while living in the public eye. The 51-year-old fashion designer and mother of four discussed how difficult it can be to see her children — Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14 — become the focus of public scrutiny. Speaking on Today with Jenna & Friends on October 15, Victoria admitted that reading negative headlines about her family can be painful.

"Oh my gosh, it's so horrible," she said when asked how she copes with media coverage about her children. "For me and David, the way we communicate with our children is so important." She added that despite the challenges, she is deeply proud of all her kids, describing them as kind, grounded, and hardworking.

Victoria also reflected on how the public has shaped her image over the years. "There have been so many stories about me, so many other people telling my story," she shared. The former Spice Girl has long faced intense media attention, and in recent years, speculation has often centered on her family, particularly her relationship with her eldest son Brooklyn and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Reports of tension between the Beckhams and the couple have circulated for years. A source told PEOPLE in May 2025 that the family's attempts to reconcile have been complicated. "Every time they finally have a happy moment, it all falls apart again," the insider said, adding that Brooklyn often feels torn between his parents and his own life. "It's his family and blood, but he's always had a complicated relationship with his dad. A lot of their relationship has felt like business."

Brooklyn's absence from David's 50th birthday celebration in May and Victoria's Netflix docuseries premiere in October fueled further speculation about a family rift. However, sources close to the family maintain that their relationship is not beyond repair. "They love him and are always there for him," one insider said. "They're just hurt and disappointed that he's playing no part in family life right now."
