Dakota Johnson has made it clear that she's unbothered by public opinion when it comes to her daring fashion choices. In a new interview with Vogue Germany, the Fifty Shades of Grey star and director opened up about her love for "naked" dresses — the sheer, skin-baring gowns that have become her signature on red carpets.

When asked whether she ever worries that a see-through gown might be "too sexy," Johnson's reply was simple and unapologetic: "I really don't care." She explained, "I've been able to wear some of the most beautiful dresses, and I feel beautiful in them, so I wear them."

The 36-year-old actress added that not every bold look has been perfect, admitting, "Sometimes those dresses look good on me. But there are also some we've tried on that didn't look good at all. It depends on the shape, the finish, the color, and everything else. So if I find a beautiful dress that I feel comfortable in, of course I want to wear it! And it's fun to wear a sexy dress."

Johnson, the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, credited her mother for the body confidence that fuels her fashion choices. "My mom was just very open about the topic of bodies," she said. "She taught us how to take care of our bodies and love them, and that our bodies are beautiful. And I think that's something really important for a young girl because we're constantly told that we're not good enough."

She continued, "If you're not told from a young age by the woman you look up to the most that you're perfect and smart and special and strong and brave, it can really break you. It's hard to re-teach yourself that love later on. That was a huge gift she gave me."

The Madame Web star has worn several head-turning sheer looks in recent years. One of her most talked-about appearances was at the Kering Foundation's Caring for Women Dinner in New York City on September 11, where she wore a sheer black lace Gucci gown featuring floral embroidery over a black bra and underwear. Later that month, on September 25, she appeared at the Zurich Film Festival in another daring ensemble — a long-sleeved indigo lace gown with a tulle skirt, opting to go without visible undergarments.
