Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Oct. 21, the 33-year-old Only Murders in the Building star explained that she wanted to control what parts of her special day were shared publicly. "I didn't want anyone to get photos of my wedding unless it was from me, and I keep my life as private as I can," Gomez told Hudson.
The singer and actress tied the knot with Blanco, 37, in a quiet California ceremony. It wasn't until three days later that she gave fans a glimpse into their celebration. On Sept. 30, Gomez shared a series of photos on Instagram showing the elegant event, including her three Ralph Lauren wedding gowns, a heart-shaped cake, and delicate floral decorations.
Her favorite gown featured a lace halter neck and a heart embroidered with her and Blanco's initials. According to Ralph Lauren, the date of the wedding was also stitched into the design, which included 300 hand-cut lace flowers, crystal details, and a hand-painted corset. Her second look was a draped canopy gown, which she wore to walk down the aisle, while her third was a silk satin halter-neck dress with a low back and a soft train.
Blanco also shared a few moments from their ceremony on Sept. 28, posting pictures of their wedding rings, Gomez's flowing veil, and glimpses of their joyful day. In a playful caption, he wrote, "I married a real life Disney princess," referencing Gomez's Disney Channel roots.
On Oct. 6, Gomez posted more unseen photos from the wedding while celebrating her longtime friend Taylor Swift's new album, The Life of a Showgirl. She wrote, "In honor of SHOWGIRL... blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later, gator. I love you @taylorswift forever and always."
The photos showed Gomez and Swift sharing a sweet hug under string lights and sipping drinks together. In a short clip, Swift, dressed in a sparkling floral gown and red lipstick, filmed Gomez getting ready in her bridal suite. "Are you even serious?" Swift can be heard saying as she zooms in on her friend. "What? Look at her. Oh my God!"
