The 29-year-old supermodel responded to a fan's viral TikTok asking what was wrong with her during the Oct. 15 show. Hadid explained that she had just started her period that morning and was still recovering her strength following a recent hospitalization. "Girl I got my period that morning and my stamina is not up yet after the whole hospital sitch, but I tried my best and I LOVEEE you for this I'm ok I swear," she commented.
She also apologized to fans who might have been disappointed by her walk, adding, "I'm sorry if I let u down. Love you I mean it."
Hadid was hospitalized in September due to complications from chronic Lyme disease, which she has battled since she was 16. Her mother, Yolanda Hadid, shared photos of Bella in the hospital and described her daughter's pain as "invisible but unbearable."
Just a week after being discharged, Bella was seen in Paris on Sept. 24, telling fans it was her "first day in the gym in a long time" as she worked on regaining stamina. Yolanda proudly reshared her post, writing, "Gooooo Bella... One day at a time."
By Sept. 29, Bella had returned to the runway, walking in the Saint Laurent show at Paris Fashion Week before heading to New York for the Victoria's Secret event.
At the Oct. 15 show, Bella walked in two looks, including a shimmering silver fringe bodysuit with a pair of angel wings weighing 50 pounds. "Heavy or not... your girl will always keep walkin' the walk! Never gets old walking this runway," she wrote on Instagram after the event.
This year's Victoria's Secret show, held at Brooklyn Navy Yard, featured returning icons like Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Barbara Palvin, Jasmine Tookes, and Stella Maxwell. New faces included Emily Ratajkowski, Barbie Ferreira, Angel Reese, and Olympic gymnast Suni Lee.
Executive creative director Adam Selman told Vogue's The Run-Through podcast that the goal was to balance classic VS figures with a fresh generation. "We've got an amazing mix of icons and new faces," he said.
