Isla Fisher has expressed her surprise over Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's separation after nearly two decades together. Speaking on the Fly on the Wall podcast with Dana Carvey and David Spade, the Australian actress said she was "really, really, really shocked" to learn that her longtime friend had filed for divorce.

The Confessions of a Shopaholic star explained that she had already reached out to Kidman following the news but hadn't yet spoken to her directly. "I have left a message, I have not connected yet," she said, adding that she preferred not to say much more because "there are children involved."

Kidman and Urban married in June 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Court documents show that Kidman will be the primary residential parent, while Urban will have custody every other weekend and certain holidays. Despite their separation, both are committed to co-parenting their daughters in a loving and stable environment.

Fisher's comments came as she reflected on her own recent split from actor Sacha Baron Cohen, her husband of 23 years. The couple, who share three children, finalized their divorce in June 2025 after announcing their separation in April 2024.

While Fisher was candid about her shock over Kidman's situation, she also acknowledged that life transitions like divorce can open new chapters. In a recent interview, she spoke about learning to "process stuff" and taking time to rebuild. The actress said she now sees her future as "an opportunity, in a positive way, to reinvent what the last act of my life is now from the ground up."

Meanwhile, sources close to Kidman revealed that the Oscar winner filed for divorce in September, citing irreconcilable differences, and has since leaned on her family for support. Her sister Antonia has reportedly been "a rock," and Kidman is focusing on her daughters and work as she films the series Lioness in London.
