Eminem boldly represents his city. The “Love the Way You Lie” artist stunned the audience at the Thanksgiving game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers by appearing during Jack White’s halftime show in Motor City on Nov. 27.

During the halftime show—which Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg produced—the rock star invited his fellow Detroit native onto the stage to perform the rapper’s 2002 hit “Till I Collapse,” garnering loud cheers from the crowd.

Throughout the performance, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers III) prominently displayed his support for the team by wearing a blue Lions varsity jacket over his iconic hoodie and baseball cap.

The Grammy winner’s surprise performance was particularly significant as his 8-month-old grandson Elliot Marshall McClintock—who his daughter Hailie Jade had with husband Evan McClintock in March—observed from the audience while donning noise-cancelling ear muffs, as shown in a video on the Just a Little Shady podcast host’s Instagram account.

Certainly, Eminem’s unwavering devotion to the Lions is widely recorded. In 2024, he narrated an introductory video for NBC’s Sunday Night Football as the Lions faced the Los Angeles Rams, expressing his heartfelt perspective on the team's history.

“For an extended period, Detroit has endured losing seasons and negative jokes,” he stated in the video segment. “You attempt to block out the sound, but eventually, it begins to reside in your mind.”

“Detroit doesn't often see many Hollywood endings,” he went on, “but tonight, we have a chance. “And we take our chance, and you know what follows.”

Football definitely wasn't the only mainstay on television during Thanksgiving. Earlier today, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade celebrated its 99th event in New York City, showcasing performances by artists such as Cynthia Erivo, Ciara, and Jewel.

The yearly broadcast—led by Today’s Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and a back Hoda Kotb—also featured its own surprising highlight. When Al handed a young viewer tickets to watch the Radio City Rockettes perform live, her funny reply was, “I did that yesterday!”
