Shirley MacLaine may simply have a term of endearment for her favorite café. After all, the 91-year-old went out twice over Thanksgiving weekend to eat at Kristy's Village Cafe in Malibu, California.
Shirley dined al fresco on November 25th, dressed in a navy sweatshirt and matching shirt, black pants, a wide-brimmed sun hat, and sunglasses, and sipped an orange cocktail. Four days later, on November 29, the Oscar winner wore a similar outfit while enjoying a cocktail and dinner with a companion.
While the Steel Magnolias star primarily stepped out of the public eye, she has occasionally appeared, including during her reunion with People Not Places costar Stephen Dorff at the Sunset Bar and Grill during the summer.
Then, of course, there are elegant evenings that she’s turned into a family event, as she joined sister-in-law Annette Bening—who is married to her brother Warren Beatty—at the Industry Dance Awards in Hollywood back in 2023.
Even after all these years, her love of dance remains strong. Indeed, the Terms of Endearment alum has attributed her longevity to her decades of dance experience.
"I started my dance training at age three and stopped at about 67," Shirley told People in 2024. "It taught me discipline, loving music, working with people, and dealing with pain."
It's that, plus the occasional role, such as her 2022 appearance on Only Murders in the Building.
Shirley expressed her gratitude for being able to "keep working," adding, "I have my friends, and I am really healthy."
Nonetheless, she is not terrified of death. "I'm kind of interested in going there," she admitted on CBS Sunday Morning in 2024. "I'm looking forward to being part of the Heaven experience. I really am."
