In a personal act of philanthropy, global superstar Taylor Swift has donated $1 million to the American Heart Association (AHA). The gift, confirmed on December 23, 2025, was made in honor of her father, Scott Swift, following his recent recovery from a significant cardiac procedure. The 73-year-old reportedly underwent quintuple bypass surgery earlier this summer after a stress test revealed multiple blockages in his heart, an experience Taylor later described as “intense” and “really quick” during a candid conversation on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast.

The American Heart Association announced that the seven-figure contribution will be utilized to advance several key pillars of their mission. Specifically, the funds are earmarked for ongoing scientific research, the strengthening of prevention and treatment efforts, and the expansion of access to life-saving cardiovascular care across the United States. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the nation, and the AHA emphasized that high-profile donations like Swift’s help bridge the gap in funding for critical community health initiatives.

Nancy Brown, the Chief Executive Officer of the American Heart Association, praised the singer for her generosity and for using her platform to raise awareness. Brown noted that Swift’s personal connection to the cause, having stood by her father along with her mother, Andrea, and brother, Austin, throughout the surgery and recovery process, adds profound weight to the gesture. “Her commitment to supporting her father will make so many others aware of the need to take their own heart health seriously,” Brown said in a statement. The CEO also referenced Swift’s signature “heart hands” gesture, noting the poetic alignment between the artist’s trademark symbol and the AHA’s work in supporting families affected by cardiovascular disease.

The donation to the AHA was part of a broader “season of giving” for the billionaire artist. On the same day the AHA gift was announced, Feeding America confirmed that Swift had also donated $1 million to support their nationwide network of food banks, ensuring families have access to meals during the holiday season. These contributions continue Swift’s long-standing pattern of targeted philanthropy, which has previously included million-dollar donations for disaster relief, student loans and food banks in nearly every city on her Eras Tour. By highlighting her family’s private health journey, Swift has once again turned a personal moment into a public benefit.
