Jennifer Lopez is making it clear she has no intention of dimming her shine, or changing her style, no matter what critics say.
The 56-year-old entertainer addressed online commentary about her appearance while opening her Jennifer Lopez: Up All Night Live residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on December 30. Speaking candidly to the audience between performances, Lopez reflected on the scrutiny she's faced throughout her career and how she's learned to tune it out.
"Thank God I've been doing this a long time," she told the crowd. "I can just ignore a lot of it. It really doesn't mean nothing."
Lopez said she often finds the commentary more amusing than upsetting, before zeroing in on recurring remarks about her fashion choices. Mimicking critics, she listed the questions she constantly hears: "Why is she always dressed that way? Why doesn't she dress her age? Why she always naked?"
Her response drew laughter and cheers from the audience. "If you had this booty, you'd be naked too," she said, punctuating the moment by briefly turning around onstage while wearing a barely-there, sequin-fringe minidress layered with feathers.
The moment quickly went viral, with fans praising Lopez for owning her confidence and refusing to apologize for her body or her wardrobe.
The residency marks Lopez's return to the Las Vegas stage following her record-breaking All I Have run at Planet Hollywood from 2016 to 2018, which included 120 shows and grossed more than $100 million. Up All Night Live continues through early January, with additional performances scheduled for March 2026.
True to form, the show leans heavily into spectacle. Lopez cycles through a series of bold costume changes, including corseted bodysuits, crystal-studded ensembles, and old-Hollywood-inspired feathered gowns. The production blends pop, Latin, R&B, and Broadway influences, tracing her evolution as a performer across decades.
Offstage, Lopez has continued to make headlines for her fashion, including her appearance at a lavish wedding celebration in India, where she performed in a gold, jewel-encrusted bodysuit and attended ceremonies in couture attire. She also shared quieter moments over the holidays, posting family photos in matching pajamas and festive looks.
