Signs of tension within the Beckham family appear set to continue into 2026.
On January 1, Romeo Beckham shared an Instagram recap of his 2025 that notably excluded his eldest brother, Brooklyn. The 23-year-old son of David and Victoria
Beckham posted a series of photos highlighting moments from the year, many of which featured his younger brother Cruz, 20, and his sister Harper, 14. One image showed Romeo and Harper enjoying time together on a jet ski, while another captured a warm moment between Romeo and his mother at what appeared to be a party.
Brooklyn, 26, was absent from the images, and his omission extended beyond the photos. In the caption, Romeo tagged his parents and siblings but did not include Brooklyn. Writing "Love you all," he added, "Thanks 2025 now off to an even better 2026."
Romeo's post followed a similar moment from his father. Just one day earlier, David Beckham shared his own year-in-review post that also did not include Brooklyn. The former soccer star reflected on what he called an incredible year, which included celebrating his 50th birthday and being knighted by King Charles. He expressed gratitude for his wife, children, friends, and professional team, crediting them for making the year meaningful.
Several hours later, David appeared to address the omission by posting throwback photos of himself with Brooklyn on his Instagram Stories. One image showed father and son together, while another featured the entire family. Alongside the pictures, David wrote messages expressing love for all of his children and looking ahead to the new year.
Speculation about a rift within the family has been growing for months. In December, Victoria, David, and Brooklyn unfollowed one another on Instagram. Brooklyn also no longer follows his brothers, and they do not follow him back. The same is true for Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz, whom he married in 2022. Reports have suggested tensions began around the time of the wedding, with rumors pointing to disagreements over Nicola's wedding dress, although sources have disputed that claim.
Earlier this year, insiders told PEOPLE that the family has struggled to repair the relationship. One source said attempts at reconciliation have repeatedly fallen apart, while another shared that Brooklyn feels conflicted due to a complicated dynamic with his father.
The holiday season further highlighted the divide. Brooklyn spent Christmas with Nicola and her family, and Nicola shared photos of the couple celebrating together with her parents, rather than with the Beckhams.
