Bradley Cooper is finally weighing in on long-running rumours about whether he has had cosmetic surgery.
The 51-year-old actor touched on the speculation during a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast, where he joined hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and longtime friend Will Arnett. While the conversation was light-hearted, it addressed a topic that has followed Cooper online for years.
Cooper revealed that comments about his appearance have recently shifted from social media to real life. "People have come up to me the last couple of weeks," he said, explaining that strangers keep telling him how good he looks. Though he didn't explicitly list procedures or deny rumours point by point, the discussion made clear that the attention has been noticeable — and surprising.
Arnett, however, was more direct. The actor shut down the speculation outright, saying people constantly assume they know the truth about celebrities' appearances. "Everybody thinks they know," he said, adding that the plastic surgery rumours surrounding Cooper are simply untrue. Bateman echoed the sentiment, reinforcing that Cooper has not gone under the knife.
This marks the first time Cooper has publicly acknowledged the ongoing chatter about cosmetic work. The rumours intensified last year as he made several high-profile appearances while promoting his latest directorial project, Is This Thing On?, with online commenters claiming his face looked noticeably refreshed.
Cooper has previously spoken out about a different appearance-related controversy — the backlash over his use of prosthetics to portray composer Leonard Bernstein in Maestro. At the time, he explained that the decision was made to achieve balance in facial features rather than transformation for shock value.
"The truth is, I did this project out of love," Cooper said in a 2023 interview, noting that the prosthetics were subtle and carefully designed. Bernstein's children later defended Cooper, praising his respect and commitment to honouring their father.
Away from professional projects, Cooper has also remained in the spotlight for his personal life. He has been romantically linked to supermodel Gigi Hadid since 2023 and has been spotted attending Broadway shows and public events with her. Cooper is also a devoted father to his 8-year-old daughter, Lea, whom he shares with ex Irina Shayk.
