Sydney Sweeney is once again commanding attention with her brief but provocative appearance in the newly released trailer for Euphoria Season 3, which signals a bold new chapter for her character Cassie Howard.
The HBO drama returns April 12 and introduces a significant time jump, taking place several years after the characters leave high school. Sweeney, 28, reprises her role
alongside Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer in what HBO has described as the show's most ambitious season yet.
In the trailer, Cassie appears to have reinvented herself as an OnlyFans-style content creator. One moment shows her dressed in a dog-themed corset complete with ears and a tail, posing suggestively for the camera. In another, she films explicit content on a bed while wearing a chew toy, only to be interrupted by her fiancé Nate, played by Elordi.
"I work all day and my bride-to-be is spread-eagled on the internet," Nate says in a tense voiceover. Cassie responds matter-of-factly, insisting she is "just making content."
The trailer also teases what appears to be Cassie and Nate's wedding, with the couple smiling for photos at a lavishly decorated reception table, hinting at a deeply complicated future for the toxic duo.
HBO's official logline describes Season 3 as following a group of former classmates grappling with faith, redemption and moral reckoning as adults. Creator Sam Levinson has said the time jump was necessary to avoid returning to a high school setting and to explore darker, more mature storylines.
Sweeney previously teased Cassie's return at Variety's Power of Women event in October, joking to reporters, "It's Cassie — what do you expect?" She also revealed that Season 3 will likely mark her final appearance on the series.
"This is actually my last week filming," Sweeney shared at the time. "It's bittersweet because I grew up with this character."
Levinson has called the upcoming season the show's strongest yet, saying the five-year leap felt natural for characters now confronting adult consequences. For fans, the trailer promises a shocking, polarizing and unmistakably Euphoria return.
