Jim Curtis is opening up about how his relationship with Jennifer Aniston started and how long the couple has been together.

The wellness author and hypnotherapist spoke about his romance with the Morning Show star during an appearance on the Today show on January 26, where he was promoting his upcoming book, The Book of Possibility, set for release in September.

When asked by host Craig Melvin about the couple's "origin story," Curtis kept the explanation simple. "We were just introduced by friends," he said. "That's it. We found out that we had mutual friends, and we started to just chat."

Curtis explained that their connection developed gradually rather than turning romantic right away.

"It took a long time," he added. "We chatted for a long time and we became close."

While he avoided sharing specific details, Curtis confirmed that the relationship has been ongoing for quite some time. "A long time," he said. "Months now, almost close to a year."

Melvin jokingly cut off further questions after noticing Curtis' reaction, telling him he was "kind of blushing." Curtis admitted with a laugh, "Yeah, I sure am."

Aniston, 56, first appeared to confirm the relationship publicly in November 2025 when she shared a photo of herself hugging Curtis on Instagram, captioning it, "Happy birthday my love. Cherished." Curtis responded with a heart emoji, further fuelling confirmation of their romance.

Before that, the couple had been the subject of dating rumours since mid-2025, including sightings during a group vacation in Spain and Curtis' appearance at the premiere of Aniston's Apple TV+ series The Morning Show. Sources previously described the pair as private but happy.

According to one insider, Aniston "feels really good about where things are" and is excited about the future, noting that the relationship "feels different" from her past ones.
Curtis, 50, has worked in the health and wellness field for more than two decades after leaving a career on Wall Street. He previously shared that health challenges in his early twenties, including spinal cord lesions that caused paralysis and chronic pain, pushed him to pursue a more purpose-driven path.

"I just knew that there was something more for me," Curtis said of the career change. "Less stress, easier on my body."

His upcoming book reflects that journey. "The Book of Possibility is the closest thing to working one-on-one with me," he explained, adding that it includes guided visualizations, writing exercises and stories from clients.

Aniston was previously married to Brad Pitt and later to Justin Theroux, whom she divorced in 2018. Curtis is divorced and shares a teenage son from his previous marriage.
