Eldridge Toney is taking on a new and exciting role: father.
A little more than two years after his wife, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Anna Cardwell, died, his fiancée Jessie English confirmed she is expecting their first child.
"We are extremely excited to announce!!," Jessie wrote in a Jan. 25 Instagram post, which included photos of the pregnancy test, onesie, and sonogram. "Baby Toney is due in September!!! "Eldridge Toney."
Eldridge and Jessie were also seen smiling together as they took a selfie.
Baby Toney will be Eldridge's first child; she helped raise Anna's two daughters, Kaitlyn, 12, and Kylee, 9, whom she welcomed from previous relationships, until her death from cancer in 2023. Anna's mother, June Shannon, was granted custody of Kaitylyn in 2024, while Kylee lives with her father. Jessie has a daughter from a previous relationship.
Eldridge and Jessie announced their engagement on Christmas Day, and the news comes a month later.
"Mrs. Toney has a nice RING to it!," Jessie captioned the December 25 Instagram carousel in which she holds up her ring for the camera while wearing matching pajamas with Eldridge. "Our love story has a new chapter! "Eldridge Toney, I love you!"
Eldridge and Jessie started their relationship in March 2025, after meeting on Tinder. Eldridge has the support of Anna's family, who have even given Jessie their approval.
"She has met Anna's family, and they like her a lot," Eldridge told Us Weekly in December. "We visit Kaitlyn during holidays and at other times. Kaitlyn adores her, which pleases me greatly."
"She has also met Kylee," he explained. "Who also loves Jessie."
Eldridge also expressed gratitude to his fiancée for her support during his time of grief.
"She knows I have good days and bad days when it comes to missing Anna," he told me. "And she is extremely supportive."
"Our future together is bright from what we have talked about and how things are going now," he told reporters. "I know a lot of people may say I'm moving on fast but at the end of the day, Anna wouldn't want me sitting around in misery."
