Jake Ferguson already knows one detail he wants to stand out when he and Haley Cavinder tie the knot, and it is all about food.

The Dallas Cowboys tight end, 27, and the former college basketball star, 25, have been together since 2023 and shared their engagement news in April 2025. Now, with their wedding set for June, the couple says plans are coming together quickly.

Speaking with PEOPLE's Janine Rubenstein in San Francisco at the SiriusXM set at Media Row on Wednesday, Feb. 4, Ferguson and Cavinder confirmed that preparations for their big day are well underway. Cavinder shared that she is working with a wedding planner she loves and joked that the countdown is officially on. While she admitted the date is approaching fast, she laughed that she has not reached full bridezilla mode just yet.

Ferguson, fresh off scoring two touchdowns at the 2026 NFC Pro Bowl on Tuesday, Feb. 3, revealed the one wedding feature he considers non negotiable. As the night winds down, he wants guests to be greeted by a ranch fountain. According to Ferguson, the idea is simple and perfect. Guests could dip anything from wings to pizza into the flowing ranch.

Cavinder backed up his enthusiasm, explaining that ranch dressing is practically a staple at their dinner table because of how much he loves it. She confirmed they are fully on board with making his vision happen. Ferguson added that even if no one else touches it, he certainly will.

The couple envisions their wedding as more of a celebration than a formal affair. Cavinder said they want a lively party atmosphere, complete with plenty of tequila to keep the energy high.

When it comes to the guest list, the focus is on close connections. Ferguson shared that they have invited many of his teammates, along with close friends, college friends and even a few former college coaches. He described the gathering as one that is guaranteed to be fun.

Cavinder described their relationship as easy and natural, noting that they never feel the need to put on an act in public. She said they are each other's best friends and strongest support systems. Ferguson joked that he has been well trained in taking photos of her, while also emphasizing how proud he is of her accomplishments and success.

For their interview, the couple wore Abercrombie and Fitch, the official fashion partner of the NFL. Ferguson praised the brand for helping him with game day outfits, while Cavinder highlighted their jeans and everyday staples.
