According to Malik, Khai is passionate about K Pop and has her heart set on becoming a K Pop star one day. He told Cooper that she is deeply into the genre and seems serious about her ambitions, even at her young age. While he clearly admires her enthusiasm, Malik admitted that he has mixed feelings about the idea of her entering the entertainment industry.
The singer explained that although he would personally prefer to shield his daughter from some of the challenges that come with fame, he ultimately wants to support whatever makes her happy. Having experienced the pressures of the music industry firsthand, he is aware of the demands and public scrutiny that often accompany a career in the spotlight. Even so, he emphasized that his role as a father is to encourage her passions, regardless of his own reservations.
Malik welcomed Khai in September 2020 with his former partner, model Gigi Hadid. Since then, he has occasionally shared small glimpses of their life together. In July, he posted a rare photo of himself and Khai attending a BLACKPINK concert. In the image, the father and daughter faced the stage with their hands raised, clearly enjoying the show. He later wrote that they both loved the performance.
During the podcast, Malik also reflected on raising his daughter in a unique environment. He acknowledged that her upbringing differs from many children's experiences, given that her father is a global pop star and her mother is a successful model. Because of that, he tries to stay mindful of how those circumstances shape her understanding of the world.
He even shared a lighthearted story about giving Khai five hundred dollars from the Tooth Fairy when she lost her first tooth, joking that he may have been a bit too generous.
