Demi Lovato is embracing what she calls a full circle moment as she teams up with Vanessa Hudgens for a new project.

The 33 year old singer has partnered with Caliwater, the beverage brand co founded by Hudgens, 37, and Oliver Trevena, to promote its new Blood Orange flavor. The collaboration brings together two performers who first found fame on Disney Channel. Lovato says it feels special to reconnect professionally after their early careers on the network. She shares that working with Hudgens has been fun and meaningful, especially considering their shared beginnings.

Hudgens rose to prominence as Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical franchise, which debuted in 2006 and became a major success for Disney. Two years later, Lovato starred as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock, later returning for its 2010 sequel. With both franchises becoming cultural touchstones, some fans have long speculated about a rivalry between the casts.

Lovato, who is serving as an executive producer on the upcoming Camp Rock 3, says there was never any tension. In fact, she explains that the Camp Rock cast respected the High School Musical stars and saw them as trailblazers. According to Lovato, the earlier franchise helped establish musicals as a powerful format for Disney Channel, paving the way for projects like Camp Rock.

Although they shared similar career paths, this marks the first official collaboration between Lovato and Hudgens. Lovato says she has been a fan of Caliwater since its early days and is excited to support the brand. She highlights the benefits of cactus water, noting that it contains antioxidants, electrolytes, and strong hydrating properties.

With her upcoming It's Not That Deep Tour set to begin in April, staying hydrated is a priority. She believes the beverage will be especially helpful as she prepares for the demands of performing live.

As she gets ready for tour life, Lovato is beginning to think about her backstage rider. She plans to keep snacks on hand to maintain her energy and confirms that Caliwater will be included. She also intends to travel with a humidifier to protect her voice and keep it in peak condition. Laughing, she adds that her rider does not include any unusually specific requests.

For Lovato, the partnership is both practical and nostalgic, blending her current career with the roots that first introduced her to audiences.
