Taylor Lautner and his wife Tay Lautner have revealed they are expecting a baby girl, sharing the emotional gender reveal with fans in a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, June 7.

The clip captured the couple huddled together on a couch, nervously clicking through a series of prompts on a laptop to unlock the news. The website asked them to confirm their selection three times before finally delivering the result, a moment Tay jokingly noted involved "very great precautions,"  before the word "girl" appeared on screen in pink lettering.

Taylor immediately threw his arms in the air and screamed with joy, while Tay covered her mouth and dissolved into tears. He pulled her into a hug, telling her quietly, "We did it." The couple captioned the post, "Our little secret is now yours."

In a follow-up to his Instagram Stories, the 34-year-old Twilight actor reflected on what the moment meant to him on a deeply personal level. He wrote that becoming a girl dad had always been his dream, pointing to the women who have shaped his life, his mother, his sister, his closest friends, and above all his wife, as the reason the news hit him so profoundly. "The weight that was lifted off my shoulders in this moment, knowing that dream came true, was unlike anything I've felt," he wrote.

Tay, 29, had previously spoken warmly about how supportive her husband had been throughout the pregnancy, telling E! News earlier this month that he had been her saving grace, running errands, sourcing specific food cravings, and refilling her water with ice dozens of times a day.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together on March 26, with Taylor marking the occasion on Instagram by joking, "What's better than two Taylor Lautners?" — a nod to the pair's famously shared first name.

Taylor and Tay went public with their relationship in 2018, got engaged in November 2021, and married in November 2022.
