The Vanderpump Rules alum came out as a lesbian, uploading a photo of herself with friends wearing a cropped tank top that said "Gay."
"Shoutout to my fellow late-life lesbians!!" the 35-year-old wrote in an Instagram post on June 7. "HAPPY PRIDE!!!"
The Disrespectfully podcast host revealed more about her coming-out process, stating that it required a lot of effort to get to the point where she could live her truth.
"My journey with queerness wasn't linear," she said in a June 10 Instagram Story, "and at times it was very scary and confusing."
Kathan previously identified as bisexual, bonding with former Vanderpump castmate Ariana Madix over their queer identities in a 2020 episode of the program.
"I just feel so much lighter now that that's out there," she told Madix, who is bisexual, back then. She confessed, "I suppose I recognized I was different in middle school. I only recall seeing both genders."
Kathan added in her Instagram Story post, "I had to unpack A LOT of shit to get to this point. All of this to say, if you're not out and struggling, take your time. You'll get there. And it's quite awesome on the other side."
It is amazing, as Kathan has received an outpouring of support, including encouraging words from her former castmates Madix and Scheana Shay.
Shay kept it short and sweet, accompanied by a Pride flag emoji: "Ilyyyyyyyy." Meanwhile, Madix wrote, with red love emojis, "I love you so much!!!!!!"
Katie Maloney, Kathan's podcast cohost, also commented on the article, writing, "My fave lesbian! I adore you so much!!!!"
