Tom Holland just put months of speculation to rest. The Spider-Man star confirmed in a new Esquire interview that he and longtime girlfriend Zendaya are, in fact, married, after his family's reaction to a batch of viral AI-generated wedding photos gave the game away.
Asked whether he had to clarify to relatives that those fabricated Lake Como photos were fake, Holland gave the answer that confirmed everything. "No, because they were all there," he said, referring to his actual wedding. He declined to offer any further detail. "That's all you'll get on that," he added, shutting the door firmly on follow-up questions about the ceremony itself.
The confirmation comes three months after Zendaya's stylist, Law Roach, first set off a frenzy by telling Access Hollywood at the Actors Awards in March that "the wedding has already happened." When pressed on whether that was true, Roach laughed and doubled down, later telling Entertainment Tonight on a separate red carpet that fans had simply missed it. Despite the obvious hints dropped by Roach, Holland and Zendaya themselves stayed silent for months, neither confirming nor denying anything publicly.
While Holland kept the wedding details locked down, he opened up extensively about what marriage to Zendaya actually means to him. He described their relationship as a "bedrock" that helps both of them navigate the unique pressures of fame and acting. "We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it's like to live this life," he said, calling that kind of mutual understanding a luxury he could not replicate with anyone else.
He went further, calling Zendaya his "person" and his best friend, and said he has never felt safer or more supported in a relationship. "I'm the happiest I have ever been when I'm with her," Holland said, "but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period."
The couple, who met filming "Spider-Man: Homecoming" back in 2016, got engaged over the 2024 holidays with a five-carat diamond ring reportedly worth $500,000. Holland's father, Dominic, later revealed that his son had even sought formal permission from Zendaya's father before popping the question, calling Tom's preparation meticulous down to every last detail.
