Love is on the up in the Valley.
Michelle Saniei of The Valley has confirmed her relationship with Dr. Dre (actual name Andre Romell Young) two months after sparking romance speculations.
"We're spending time together," she told People in an interview published on June 17. "And we love being in each other's company."
The 37-year-old, who has a 6-year-old daughter named Isabella with her ex-husband and Valley co-star Jesse Lally, also confirmed that she and Dr. Dre met through a mutual acquaintance.
When asked what her reality TV co-stars and friends think of her new partner, she replied, "For the time being, we're just keeping everything really secret. "I am just living my life."
Saniei and the music mogul, who was previously married to Nicole Young for 25 years before their 2021 split and is father to ten children from multiple relationships, first turned heads in April when they stepped out for dinner together at Nobu in Los Angeles.
While her romance with Dr. Dre is unlikely to make it to The Valley, Saniei's and Lally's split and ensuing coparenting issues have frequently taken center stage on the Bravo show.
Despite the challenges, however, Saniei has no regrets about the decision to end their six-year marriage.
"I think in the beginning you get so scared: 'Did I make the right choice, and is this best for me and my child?'” she admitted. "But now looking back, I feel like everything I did was the best decision for myself and for my daughter."
As she stated, "I'm truly happy with where life is taking me."
And in terms of how much she and Lally—who told TMZ he didn't get a heads-up about her romance with Dr. Dre—interact on and outside of the show, Saniei stressed she tries to keep it to a minimum.
“I try not to really have a relationship with him unless it has to be about our daughter,” she explained. “We won't text; we won't see each other unless, like, Isabella has a school function, then we'll go and we'll sit next to each other.”
And though Valley fans have seen Saniei and Lally’s complicated relationship dynamic firsthand, she noted the exes have better found their footing.
“We definitely have our moments,” she said. “He still makes me upset at times, and it's hard to navigate, but I just focus on myself. Don't get me wrong, we definitely fight here and there, but we're much better than before."
