Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have marked what's rumored to be their wedding week with a massive act of generosity. The couple donated $26 million to charities across the United States, according to a press release shared earlier this week.
The donations were spread across 20 organizations, ranging from food banks and children's hospitals to education programs and animal welfare groups. Beneficiaries included City Harvest, Food Bank for NYC, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Feeding America, ASPCA, and Grammy in the Schools.
New York-based programs such as Education Through Music, Musical Mentors, and After-School All Stars also received support. Hospitals like Memorial Sloan Kettering's pediatric oncology program, NYU Langone's Hassenfeld Children's Hospital, and Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City were among the recipients.
City Harvest confirmed a $1 million donation, calling it "a love letter to New York, and a bold commitment to our efforts to ensure that no New Yorker goes hungry." Rhode Island Community Food Bank also issued a statement, saying Swift and Kelce's gift "will go a long way in helping us purchase and distribute the nutritious, culturally appropriate food that Rhode Islanders deserve."
Swift has long been known for her philanthropy, often donating quietly to local food banks during her Eras Tour stops. She also made headlines for giving nearly $200 million in bonuses to her crew. "Bonus day is so important because setting a precedent with The Eras Tour is really important to me," she explained in her End of an Era documentary. "These people just work so hard and they are the best at what they do."
Kelce has his own track record of giving back, having founded his nonprofit 87 and Running in 2015. "I don't care what you look like, where you come from," he said in a Chiefs video last year. "I'm gonna be friendly and lend a helping hand. I just don't know any other way."
