Justin Baldoni has finally broken his silence on the long legal fight with Blake Lively over It Ends With Us.

In a video posted July 8, Baldoni appeared with his wife Emily to reflect on the ordeal. "We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years," he said. "Every time we wanted to speak, it just didn't feel like the right time. We wanted to let the justice system run its course."

Emily added that the experience left their family shaken: "There's been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family. We've had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand how something like this could even happen, let alone disguised as a fight for women."

The couple emphasized that they are now focused on healing, their children, and their Bahá'í faith. "We are healing," Justin said. "And if you've ever been through something traumatic, you know healing isn't linear. We've had to rethink what really matters."

They also thanked fans and supporters who stood by them. "So many of you had discernment, and you used your intuition, and you trusted that," Justin said. "Thank you does not feel like enough, but we're here in large part because of so many of you."

Blake Lively filed a lawsuit in 2024 accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation during the production of It Ends With Us. She alleged he made inappropriate comments, kissed her without consent, and retaliated through his company Wayfarer Studios. Baldoni denied the claims.

A judge later dismissed 10 of Lively's 13 claims, including sexual harassment, leaving breach of contract and retaliation allegations. The case was set for trial in May 2025 but ended in a settlement. Both sides acknowledged the process was difficult but said they hoped to move forward constructively.

Baldoni's countersuit against Lively, in which he sought $400 million for defamation and civil extortion, was dismissed in June 2025. Meanwhile, Lively's legal team secured attorneys' fees exceeding $8 million.

For Baldoni and his wife, the focus now is on moving forward. "When God presses the reset button and everything else is stripped away, that's when love shows up," Justin said.
