Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates has revealed she is open to having more children, nearly a year after a life-threatening health scare following the birth of her seventh baby.

During a Q&A on Instagram Stories on July 15, the 35-year-old mom shared that she and her husband Chad Paine would welcome more kids if her health allowed.

"Without a doubt, yes! We both just love kids and consider it our highest calling to raise them to know and love Jesus," she wrote. Erin also said adoption could be a possibility, adding, "Maybe... I don't know! I'm so thankful for the children the Lord gave us."

Erin and Chad welcomed their seventh child, Henry Blythe, in August 2025. Shortly after his birth, Erin developed a severe UTI and kidney infection that led to septic shock.

Days later, she suffered a "lengthy and severe" seizure while in the ICU. Chad shared updates at the time, describing the ordeal as a period of "heartache, uncertainty, and tears."

The reality star spent nearly three weeks in the hospital, where she was left extremely weak and unable to walk. She was eventually discharged and slowly regained mobility.

In October, Erin posted an emotional update, celebrating her first steps after weeks of being carried or wheeled around. "Today I took steps. They might be a little wobbly, but they are steps I wasn't sure I'd ever take again," she wrote.

Erin and Chad, who married in 2013, are parents to Carson, 11, Brooklyn, 9, Everly, 8, Holland, 6, Finley, 4, William, 2, and baby Henry. Erin, the third child of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates' 19 children, has often spoken about how her health struggles deepened her appreciation for family.

In a November post, she reflected, "Facing how fragile life really is made me hold my family a little tighter. These seven sweet souls and the man I love... they're my everything."
