Shawn Mendes has officially made his relationship with Brazilian actress and model Bruna Marquezine public, celebrating her 31st birthday with a heartfelt message and a series of personal photos and videos on Instagram.
The Grammy-nominated singer shared the tribute on Tuesday, opening his message with the words, "Feliz aniversário my baby."
Mendes went on to praise Marquezine, describing her as someone who brings warmth and positivity wherever she goes.
"You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into," he wrote. "Not to be too sappy, but you've truly changed my life, and I am so, so grateful for you."
He concluded the message in Portuguese, writing, "Eu te amo muito muito muitoo," which translates to, "I love you so, so, so much," before adding that everyone around her loves her as well.
The post featured several moments from a visit to Casa Amarela Providência in Rio de Janeiro. In one video, Marquezine was welcomed by a group of excited children who rushed over to hug her. Another clip showed her singing and dancing as the children appeared to celebrate her birthday together.
Mendes also included a video of himself smiling alongside two children during the visit. The collection of images ended with a photo of Marquezine posing while holding her dog in front of her face. He later shared another picture of the couple together at the community center on his Instagram Stories.
The pair first sparked dating rumors late last year after reports linked them romantically. Since then, they have been photographed together on several occasions in both the United States and Brazil, though neither had publicly confirmed the relationship until now.
Before dating Marquezine, Mendes was in an on-and-off relationship with singer Camila Cabello between 2019 and 2023. The couple initially separated in 2021 before briefly rekindling their romance two years later. He was also linked to Sabrina Carpenter in early 2023.
Last year, Mendes spoke candidly about relationships during a concert in Colorado, saying he no longer wants to place pressure on himself or others when it comes to finding a lifelong partner.
He told fans he prefers to appreciate love as it happens instead of worrying about finding "The One." Mendes added that everyone deserves affection, saying people can all benefit from a little more hugging, cuddling and genuine human connection.
