Perez Hilton's family has released its first public statement following the celebrity blogger's hospitalization, thanking supporters for their concern and asking for privacy as he receives medical care.
The statement, published on Hilton's official website on Wednesday, expressed gratitude for the messages of encouragement sent by fans and supporters in the wake of the incident.
"Many of you have reached out with concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers," the statement read.
The family confirmed that Hilton is receiving treatment and said their priority is his recovery.
"Our family's focus right now is on his well-being," the statement continued. "We kindly ask that you respect Perez's privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time. If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so as soon as we can. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support."
Authorities responded to Hilton's Miami home on Tuesday after receiving reports that prompted a welfare check. According to dispatch records obtained by PEOPLE, emergency responders and law enforcement were sent to the residence before Hilton was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and care.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office previously confirmed that deputies responded after concerns were raised during a livestream. Officials said specially trained crisis intervention deputies handled the situation using de-escalation techniques designed to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Authorities also confirmed that Hilton was hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act, which allows individuals to be taken for involuntary mental health evaluation under specific circumstances when they may be at risk of harming themselves or others.
Hilton's management also released a brief statement on Wednesday, saying there was no additional information available regarding his condition. The team added that any verified updates would be shared through his representative, Dante Rusciolelli of Golden Artists Entertainment.
Attorney Bryan Freedman, who has known and represented Hilton for many years, also expressed concern, saying he hopes Hilton receives the care and support he needs. He added that the situation should be met with kindness and compassion.
Following the incident, Hilton's TikTok account was removed for violating the platform's community guidelines.
No further updates on Hilton's condition have been released, and his family has asked the public to respect their privacy while he focuses on his recovery.
