Kelly Osbourne is reflecting on an especially painful period in her life, opening up about the toll that losing her father, Ozzy Osbourne, has taken on her emotionally and physically. The reality star has also faced harsh scrutiny over her appearance as she navigates grief and ongoing health struggles.
She addressed her wellbeing in her first exclusive interview since Ozzy's death, speaking to HELLO! about the intense scrutiny she faced after losing her father in July 2025.
"I didn't navigate it – I wasn't well," Kelly said of the body-shaming she experienced, particularly after she and her mother, Sharon Osbourne, attended the 2026 BRIT Awards to accept Ozzy's posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award.
"How can you navigate something so cruel when you're so sick?" she added.
Kelly said she is now "getting a lot better" and has surrounded herself with people who have supported her through the difficult period.
"I've got all the help I need and I'm grateful for the support I have in my life," she said. "I've built around me this incredible team of people who are not just my friends, because what you'll find when you're grieving is that people don't know how to handle it, and you do lose a lot of friends. But the ones who stick around are the real ones."
The scrutiny over her appearance came as Kelly was dealing with grief following Ozzy's death at age 76. She previously pushed back against comments about her weight and appearance, saying at the time that her life had been "completely flipped upside down."
In December 2025, Kelly addressed the criticism in an Instagram Stories post, questioning what people expected her to look like while she was going through such a difficult period. She said that simply getting out of bed, facing her life and trying to keep going was something she believed deserved recognition.
She also responded to comments that she looked unwell, acknowledging that she was indeed struggling with her health and personal life. Kelly explained that her life had been turned upside down and that she could not understand why people expected her to immediately recover and appear as though everything was fine when it was not.
Earlier this year, Kelly again spoke out against comments about her appearance following the BRIT Awards, saying the reaction to her body had left her feeling dehumanised.
She condemned the lack of compassion toward someone who was clearly going through a difficult time, saying that criticising her, questioning her struggles, turning her pain into gossip and withholding support only added to what she was already experiencing.
Now, Kelly says she is taking her recovery slowly and focusing on both her mental and physical wellbeing.
"It's one foot in front of the other," she told HELLO! "You've got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It's a slow process. It's going to take me a minute. I'm not going to be fixed in a day. I'm not going to be fixed on one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I've got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life."
