Taylor Frankie Paul is finally revealing what happened during her unaired season of The Bachelorette, including an unexpected engagement and what happened after she returned home to Utah.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star opened up about the experience in a scene from the upcoming fifth season, speaking with castmates Jessi Draper, Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley. An exclusive clip was released Thursday, September 3, through Hulu's Get Real podcast.
During the conversation, Taylor confirmed that one of her Bachelorette suitors got down on one knee and proposed. Although she did not identify him by name, the discussion appeared to point toward Doug Mason, who had previously been rumored to be her final choice.
"He did get down on one knee and proposed," Taylor revealed, adding that she was "shocked" by the proposal. She also confirmed that she accepted, despite apparently not expecting the engagement to happen.
The situation took another turn after Taylor returned home. She explained that she and her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, had continued communicating while she was away filming. Their messages eventually led to Dakota coming over, although Taylor stopped short of directly describing what happened between them.
"I don't know how it led to it, but he came over," she said.
Mikayla immediately joked that she understood how the situation could have unfolded, while Jessi also reacted to the revelation.
The castmates also discussed the similarities between Doug and Dakota, pointing out that both men have the initials "D.M." and are from Idaho. Taylor maintained that she had not noticed the similarities when she first met Doug, saying she only became aware of them after other people pointed them out.
Taylor later addressed the newly revealed details on Instagram, acknowledging her role in the situation. Sharing a screenshot from the scene, she wrote, "when I say we, I mean me," while teasing that viewers still have more to learn when season five arrives.
