JoJo Siwa showcased a new, edgier persona at Trixie Mattel's Pride Disco event in New York City, where she confronted a fan for booing her. The 21-year-old former Dance Moms star paused her performance to address the heckler, shouting, "Who the living f**k just booed me? Where the f**k did that come from? Which one of you?" as she scanned the crowd. The confrontation continued with her grabbing a fan's poster and flipping off the audience, prompting supportive chants of "JoJo! JoJo!" from other fans.

Despite the disruption, Siwa’s performance went on, including renditions of her new single "Karma" and an unreleased track, "Guilty Pleasure," performed with dancers in teddy bear costumes resembling her new tattoo. The event showed her shift to more mature content, as previously warned. Siwa even incorporated a fan-thrown bouquet into her act, humorously placing a rose in her shorts and shouting, "F**k the booers - somebody just chucked a bra at me!"

Earlier in the year, Siwa celebrated her LGBTQ+ identity and authenticity. "If you didn’t like me because I was straight, and the next day I was gay, then you’re not meant to like me anyways," she explained. She shared her experiences of coming out on social media, describing it as a safer space. "Social media is an art," she noted.

Siwa has embraced her new "bad girl" image, despite some fans' backlash over perceived promotion of alcoholism. She was spotted at the Los Angeles Gay Pride event chugging from a bottle of Tito's vodka, sparking controversy. "JoJo Siwa making drinking her entire personality... You can be a 'bad' girl but not promote alcoholism," a fan commented on social media.

Her performance at the NYC Pride event, part of the Solid Pink Disco Pride Tour, saw a mixed reaction from the crowd. Videos of the incident quickly went viral, with fans both supporting her bold stance and expressing discomfort at her explicit language. However, Siwa's shift in style and content has been a deliberate move to align with her growing maturity. She remarked, "People are afraid of things they don't know, things can be scary for people, new things can be very, very scary."

Siwa’s concerts continue to draw significant attention and large crowds. She recently set records for attendance at both Chicago and Miami Beach Pride events, attributing these milestones to the support of her fans. Reflecting on her performances and her journey, Siwa remains unapologetically herself, urging fans to "be yourself. You have to know that you're always changing. You're always growing. You're always evolving.”
