Amazon MGM Studios is set to expand its popular Jack Ryan universe with a brand-new feature film starring John Krasinski as the fearless CIA analyst. After a successful four-season run on Amazon Prime, Krasinski will reprise his role, bringing the character created by novelist Tom Clancy back to the big screen. This movie marks a significant move by Amazon MGM to deepen its investment in the beloved “Ryanverse.”

Andrew Bernstein, who directed several key episodes of the show’s second season, is taking the helm as director of the upcoming film. Known for his acclaimed work on Ozark and The Diplomat, Bernstein brings a gritty, cinematic style that has resonated well with audiences, setting a high bar for this action-driven, espionage-centered story.

Aaron Rabin, who co-produced and wrote for season four of Jack Ryan, is writing the script, promising a seamless continuity between the series and the feature film. While details of the plot are under wraps, the return of Wendell Pierce (The Wire) is confirmed, reprising his role as James Greer, Jack Ryan’s CIA mentor. Michael Kelly (House of Cards) is in talks to return as well, reprising his role as Mike November. Together, this trio of characters forms a robust team that has become a cornerstone of the show’s success, keeping audiences engaged with intense storytelling and complex character arcs.

In addition to his role as the lead, Krasinski will also be involved behind the scenes. His production company, Sunday Night, is producing the film in collaboration with Skydance and Paramount Pictures. Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg join the project as executive producers alongside veteran producer Carlton Cuse, who has a long-standing association with Jack Ryan.

The Jack Ryan series, widely regarded as one of Amazon Prime’s top three most-watched shows, has proven its global appeal through a modern take on Clancy’s iconic characters and thrilling storylines. Expanding the show into a long-form cinematic experience seems like a natural next step for Amazon MGM, which aims to tap into the show’s substantial fanbase and broader audiences alike.

Krasinski, who has established himself not only as an actor but also as a skilled filmmaker through projects like A Quiet Place, adds further star power to the film’s production. This expansion of the “Ryanverse” shows Amazon’s commitment to delivering high-stakes, top-quality content, reinforcing its position as a formidable player in the streaming and film industry.
