Maria Shriver recently offered a candid glimpse into her maternal perspective regarding her son Patrick Schwarzenegger's provocative scenes in HBO's latest season of The White Lotus. Speaking exclusively at Keep Memory Alive's The Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas, the 69-year-old author revealed her characteristically maternal focus when viewing her son's performance.

"My kids were like, 'Did you see that?' And I was like, 'No. What?'" Shriver shared with PEOPLE, explaining that her attention remained firmly on her son's face during his scenes. "So that shows you — a mother's eyes are always on the kids' eyes," she reflected, demonstrating her protective instinct.

In the current season, Patrick portrays Saxon Ratliff, the eldest son of Timothy (Jason Isaacs) and Victoria (Parker Posey). His performance alongside an ensemble cast including Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Walton Goggins marks a significant milestone in his acting career. The role represents the culmination of over a decade of dedicated effort in the industry.

Shriver expressed profound pride in her son's achievement, noting his commitment to mastering his craft. "He takes classes, he's really been grinding at it for more than a decade, and he wanted to work his way up — and he's done it his way," she told People, emotion evident in her voice. The accomplishment appears particularly meaningful given Patrick's decision to forge his own path in the entertainment industry.

Despite the show's success, Shriver emphasized that Patrick maintains a grounded perspective on his career trajectory. Beyond his acting pursuits, he actively contributes to MOSH, supporting the Women's Alzheimer's Movement, demonstrating a commitment to causes beyond entertainment. This involvement reflects a family value of combining professional success with meaningful social impact.

The White Lotus continues to air on HBO, Sundays at 9 p.m. EST, showcasing Patrick's evolution from supporting roles in productions like Midnight Sun and Gen V to a prominent position in one of television's most acclaimed series. His journey represents not just personal achievement but the emergence of a new chapter in the Schwarzenegger-Shriver legacy in Hollywood.
