Kelly Clarkson has been much missed on The Voice. Fortunately, the three-time Grammy winner will return to The Voice this autumn to serve as a coach for season 30, NBC announced May 7.

"Team Kelly has RE-entered the chat," the official Voice account wrote, adding an Instagram video featuring Kelly's top moments from the series. "Kelly Clarkson returns as a coach this fall on The Voice!"

A further post confirming Kelly's exciting return requested that viewers "please give a warm welcome back to Coach Kelly Clarkson!" as she joins fellow coach Adam Levine for the forthcoming season.

Kelly, 44, has not coached a regular season in three years, but he did serve as a judge on The Voice: Battle Of Champions, alongside Adam and John Legend. The historic season, which aired on February 23, featured a revamped structure with new twists, such as a triple turn competition and super steals, as well as appearances from guest judges such as CeeLo Green.

And after Team Adam took home the grand prize on Champions, he’s returning again for season 30 to try to continue his winning streak.

"I will be back," the Maroon 5 singer told People in April. "I am having so much fun doing it. Since I returned a few seasons ago, it's just been a blast, and I'm extremely thrilled to retain it, going as long as they'll have me."

The Voice season one OG has competed in 18 seasons of the competition show, while Kelly has sat in the red chair ten times previously. Despite Adam's edge in terms of seasons on the show, he is tied with the Breakaway singer for season wins.

Her return represents a new chapter in her career, following the cancellation of The Kelly Clarkson Show on February 2. "There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons," the singer wrote on Instagram, adding that she was "forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew."
